California Department of Health Care Access and Information Program

OCHIN and our OCHIN+ training and workforce development program are partnering with the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) to help rebuild California’s health care IT workforce. We’re looking for individuals interested in helping underrepresented communities become healthier, stronger, and more resilient.

Our $15M grant funding helps selected applicants train to become skilled Electronic Health Record Support Analysts, Health Information Management Specialists, or Medical Billers and Coders.

All these health centers serve HRSA-designated health professional shortage areas—communities hardest hit by rural staffing limitations, the devastating pandemic toll, and resulting workforce shortages—so they need YOUR specialized skills and dedication!

  • Passing of background check
  • Current/updated COVID-19 vaccination
  • Ability to sit/stand for long periods, use a computer, and interpret documents in English
  • Bilingual/Spanish preferred (not required)
