Our Community Health Worker courses help those new to health care start a promising career in an in-demand field—regardless of experience—or upskill and recertify those with more experience. After successfully completing this specialized training, new learners will participate in a full-time, on-site internship with a local health center to apply new skills, build meaningful connections, and support your community.

  • Play a pivotal role in advancing health equity and strengthening the circle of care in your community. 
  • Learn to advocate on behalf of patients and their families—facilitating timely access to community resources including information, insurance, food, housing, and more. 
  • Special emphasis on working in community-based settings—including communication barriers; health model characteristics; and the impacts of culture and socioeconomic status on health. 
  • Learn at your own pace with self-learning exercises and on-demand, instructor-led virtual modules. 
  • Our affordable Community Health Worker training program is approved by the Oregon Health Authority.
