Public Health AmeriCorps Program

OCHIN and our OCHIN+ training and workforce development program are partnering with Public Health AmeriCorps—AmeriCorps’ and CDC’s new national service partnership, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act. We’re looking for individuals interested in helping underrepresented communities nationwide become healthier, stronger, and more resilient.

Our $2.1M grant funding helps selected applicants train to become skilled Community Health Workers or Data and Clinical Quality Analysts.

Real-World Experience

After successfully completing your virtual coursework, participate in an on-site, full-time practicum with select OCHIN member health centers in Oregon, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Ohio, North Carolina, and Massachusetts.

All these health centers serve HRSA-designated health professional shortage areas—communities hardest hit by rural staffing limitations, the devastating pandemic toll, and resulting workforce shortages—so they need YOUR specialized skills and dedication!

Additional applicant requirements:

High school diploma or GED
Passing of background check
Current/updated COVID-19 vaccination
Ability to sit/stand for long periods, use a computer, and interpret documents in English
Bilingual/Spanish preferred (not required)
